On November 28-29, the EMPYREAN project successfully held its 3rd Plenary Meeting in Lyon, hosted by our valued partner RYAX. The event brought together all project partners for two days of dynamic discussions and strategic planning. The meeting focused on finalizing the project’s architecture and use case analysis, laying the groundwork for the next crucial phase of technological development. The collaborative spirit and shared expertise showcased during the sessions reflect the consortium’s commitment to advancing innovative solutions. As part of the ongoing efforts in the EMPYREAN project, we are excited to announce the start of face-to-face integration work, work hosted by our partner, RYAX. This in-person gathering provides an invaluable opportunity for team members to collaborate closely, align on technical integration efforts, and ensure the smooth implementation of the project’s groundbreaking solutions. By bringing together expertise from across the consortium, we are taking significant steps toward achieving our shared vision for Trustworthy , Cognitive and AI-Driven Collaborative Associations of  IoT Devices and Edge Resources for Data Processing. A huge thank you to RYAX for hosting this important session and fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration. On November 20-21, IDEKO participated in MetalMadrid 2024, held in Madrid, Spain. This premier event, part of the Advanced Manufacturing series, is recognized as a leading platform for innovation in manufacturing, machining, and metal processing. As a center of excellence in industrial research, IDEKO took the opportunity to present the EMPYREAN UC at its dedicated stand. Attendees experienced firsthand the innovative capabilities and cutting-edge advancements embodied by EMPYREAN UC, showcasing commitment to driving progress in advanced manufacturing technologies.

EMPYREAN participated in the webinar “Get to know the research initiatives about Cognitive Computing Continuum: Intelligence and automation for more efficient data processing”, on October 8th 2024 organized by HYPER-AI. Panagiotis Kokkinos from ICCS presented EMPYREAN’s objective and vision to develop novel mechanisms and technology solutions for trustworthy, cognitive, and AI-driven collaboration Associations of IoT devices and edge resources for efficient data processing across the IoT-edge-cloud continuum. It was a joint webinar to discover the innovative work of six cutting-edge projects funded by the HORIZON Europe call “Cognitive Computing Continuum: Intelligence and Automation for More Efficient Data Processing”: HYPER-AI, INTEND, EMPYREAN, ENACT, MYRTUS, and Swarmchestrate.

ILVO (Instituut voor Landbouw, Visserij- en Voedingsonderzoek) and NEC (NEC Laboratories Europe) participated in the European Big Data Value (EBDVA) Forum 2024 on 2-4 October in Budapest,  Hungary. Our partners presented and explained to a large audience their activities at the EMPYREAN project and how a cognitive, secure, and collaborative EdgeAI, IoT, and Robotics computing continuum can support the GreenDeal objectives for sustainability, soil health, and crop protection. 

ICCS  represented EMPYREAN at the NexusForum2024 Summit “Building a European Edge Cloud From Theory to Action”, which took place in Brussels, Belgium, on September 19-20, 2024. Supported by the European Commission through the Horizon Europe programme, NexusForum2024 is a physical event aimed at exploring technological synergies between the European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud, the EU companies and Members States involved in the IPCEI on Cloud Infrastructure & Services, and the community of EU-funded research and innovation projects. The event focused on creating a unique space for exploring new, high-impact technological collaborations between European research and industry ecosystems. The event was attended by more than 200 registered participants bringing their expertise in cloud, edge, and digital sovereignty, EMPYREAN participated in Pitch Sessions: HORIZON EUROPE PROJECTS, where presented its vision, objectives, and innovations.
